Marc OrtizIvorra
Electromechanical Technician & Industrial Automation
Industrial maintenance specialist, automation engineer and technical project leader with national and international experience.
Engineering with purpose
I'm Marc Ortiz Ivorra, an electromechanical technician with over 7 years of experience in industrial maintenance, automation and technical project management. Born in Mataró, Catalonia, I have built my career in demanding industrial environments across Spain and internationally.
My journey began at FRAIVEL as an engineering assistant, where I built a strong foundation in electromechanical systems. Later at Enginyeria e Instalaciones Industrials del Maresme, I led key projects including installations in Bilbao, Poland (BMW) and the relocation of 25 machines from Amsterdam to Barcelona.
Previously at Sun Chemical (Badalona), I was responsible for electronic industrial maintenance on the afternoon shift, autonomously ensuring the plant's operational continuity.

Featured projects
A selection of the most relevant projects throughout my professional career.
Industrial installation — Bilbao
Led the installation of 4 industrial machines in Bilbao, coordinating the technical team, managing timelines and ensuring compliance with quality standards.
Commissioning — BMW Poland
Installation and commissioning of machinery for BMW in Poland, working closely with local and international teams under strict quality protocols.
Plant relocation — Amsterdam to Barcelona
Full management of the relocation and reinstallation of 25 machines, including packaging lines, from a closed plant in Amsterdam to a new facility in Barcelona. Logistics and assembly supervision.
Automated Cold Storage Warehouse – Robotics & Vision System Integration
Participated in the development and commissioning of a fully automated cold storage warehouse operating at -22°C. My role included the mechanical assembly, installation, and integration of an industrial robotic system equipped with an artificial vision system. Additionally, I was involved in the programming and configuration of parts of the robotic system, supporting the optimisation of movements, operational sequences, and the correct interaction between the robot and the vision technology. The project required high precision, problem-solving skills, and close collaboration with automation, electrical, and mechanical teams to ensure a reliable and efficient automated warehouse operation under extreme low-temperature conditions.

Why Marc?
A letter for those who want to know the professional behind the resume
Dear hiring manager, Throughout my career I have learned that the difference between a technician and a great technician is not measured only in knowledge, but in the ability to adapt, lead and stay calm when problems appear without warning. I have worked in industrial plants where a breakdown can stop the entire production line. I have coordinated teams in countries where I did not speak the language. I have relocated 25 machines from Amsterdam to Barcelona while ensuring every single one worked exactly as it should. What drives me is not just solving today's problem, but understanding the complete system: how it works, why it fails, and how to improve it so it does not fail again. I am someone who learns fast, works with rigour, and when given responsibility, does not need reminding of what needs to be done. If you are looking for someone you can trust technically and who will add value from day one, I would be delighted to speak with you. Yours sincerely, Marc Ortiz Ivorra
